Open Evening

I would like to extend a personal invitation for you to attend Sigma Sixth Open Evening on Thursday 14th October between the hours of 5pm – 7pm.

I invite you to come and visit our newly refurbished facilities, speak to our students and hear about the opportunities on offer at Sigma Sixth.
Sigma Sixth has a proven track record of excellent examination results, including 26% of students gaining an A*-B grade across all their subjects and 100% pass rate this year. Whatever your long-term ambition, we offer a wide range of A-Level and Level 3 courses to help you achieve these goals. Your Post 18 destination is important to us and we will support you in your next steps, whether that be university, higher level or degree-level apprenticeships, or employment. Many of our Y13 students went on to higher education, being accepted to study at Universities across the country such as UEA, Twickenham, Portsmouth, Essex and Manchester.

We have made adjustments to the evening to ensure we can welcome you in a covid-safe environment. We will be arranging the evening over a wider area of our campus to give everyone plenty of space. Staff may guide visitors away from some areas if they are full, please follow this guidance and return at another point in the evening.

We would be grateful if all visitors would observe the following guidance:

  • If possible please ensure that you take a lateral flow test before you visit
  • Do not visit if you are feeling at all unwell. We are happy to make alternative arrangements for you at another time if this is the case.
  • We encourage visitors to please wear a mask and use the hand sanitiser provided
  • If possible, please reduce group sizes by arranging for other family members (e.g. siblings) to remain at home

To help us plan the evening, please complete the expression of interest form before the open evening event.

Sigma Sixth is an inclusive and innovative college where we seek every opportunity to enhance and broaden the experiences of our students. Our partnership with the University of Essex through the VI6 project, provides opportunities for some subjects to be taught in a university environment for one day a week.

The Sigma Sixth Sports Academy gives students the opportunity to train with professional coaches playing matches in local and national leagues alongside their A Level studies (which must include A-Level PE) or their extended BTEC in Sport qualification.

Sigma Sixth will give you the opportunity to take part in a broad range of enrichment activities alongside your main programme of study. Some activities enable you to gain additional qualifications or experiences, whilst others allow you to develop a creative talent or leadership skills. Here at Sigma Sixth we have the highest expectations of our students, nurturing a growth mindset and ‘can do’ attitude.

I understand that some of you may not be able to attend the Open Evening or may wish to visit Sigma Sixth at another time. We are open to visits at a mutually convenient time. Please contact us at
